Transfusion Hype Dance Company will be performing at the Lunatic Fringe Hair and Fashion Show on April 17, 2010. I got the chance to catch up with the dance company director, Ashlee Vilos Prentice, about the show.
According to Ashlee, the inspiration for the show is “military to chaotic.” She did all new choreography for the 4 minute long dance number that will kick off the fashion and hair show. Ashlee’s cast consists of only men this time around and she says “it was fun to work with their strength.” The seven dancers will be Noah Lillie, Michael Burdick, Chris Hoffman, Jason Denney, Kevin Mechling, Josh Barnes and Jay Christenson. Noah, Michael and Chris are some of my favorite dancers from the Transfusion Hype shows About Love and We Are Every Day. The cast is very diverse, Noah is a classically trained ballet dancer while Kevin has only danced in night clubs.
The show is $40 in advance and $50 at the door. This may be a bit too expensive for many of my readers, but there is chance to see Transfusion Hype perform for free! They will be dancing on May 21, 2010 at Salt Lake City Fashion Stroll. They will have two sets during the evening.
